Skywatch Friday

09 Jun

Our weather has been variable again this week, (sorry to those in the south with no rain) Bright misty mornings turning into occasional showers with rain in between!…….:(

But one afternoon the sky cleared enough for us to pop down to Severn Valley Country Park yet again…… It’s local so If we have an hour or so of sun it’s worth a visit……..

Chrissy had her head down looking for damselflies and dragonflies, I had my head up and was rewarded with these two!………….

The first looking upstream, North, & the second looking downstream……

There is something slightly unusual about your pictures. Can’t put my finger on it.
    HDR? Very wide angle?
    Interesting though.
    What does AJC stand for?

      Hi Jo,
Not HDR these, not very wide either although 10mm is wide!…..:)
Chrissy bought me a Circular Polariser filter which transforms this sort of shot, wonderfull for blue sky shots and fluffy cloud!…..:)
      AJC is simply my initials?………

Truly a beautiful break in the misty rain… I think even the dragonflies must have been very happy.

Now I feel how an eagle must feel soaring through this valley. Your filter makes it all magical. Thanks for sharing!

The clouds make lovely reflections in the river, a beautiful blue and green midst the brown and green.

I *gasped* at the beauty of these scenes. The sky and cloud reflections in the still water are perfect, as if the river were a mirror. I like the simplicity of colors–greens, blues, tans and white. These are really stunning photos!

These look like beautiful watercolors in a museum they are so pretty. The reflections in the water are fabulous and the skies are gorgeous. I am so glad you were looking up instead of down for these.

Hi there – I think that mix of greener than green green and the shape of the clouds could only really be from one place.
